How to get the most out of the planets: Mining planet

The key to maximum performance – specialization. From 6 available to your character planets 4-5 should be engaged exclusively in mining and manufacturing of processed materials.

The specific number of industry facilities depends on the skills of the character, but the principle remains the same.

Mining planet configuration

  • There is only one extractor. Amount of head units is chosen so the industry facilities have time to process the raw materials, it is especially true for weak skills - if you turning off a couple of drills you can be put on 1-2 more processors and to balance production/processing.
  • 3 processors are connected directly to the extractor, everything else goes into the raw material storage. Otherwise you'll have to upgrade the link between the extractor and the storage, then all the processors link to the storage (and sometimes I do such way, this has its advantages).
  • all other processors receive raw materials from storage. This allows you to not lose raw materials at peak production
  • Processed materials goes to the launch pad. You shouldn't use spaceport as storage of raw materials  - may happen, that it will be packed completely with raw materials and there will be no place for the finished product.

Look at next picture:

Mining planet configuration - tuning

I noticed that the storage is close to overfill. So I've removed one drill and that let me add another processor. If this is insufficient to redress the balance, then tomorrow I'll remove one more drill and add another processor. And then Command Center Upgrades skill will be studied to 4 (now 3), it will be possible to re-enable drills and put more processors. I note that the on / off drill is available for free, but the processors cost isk. Therefore, we shouldn't hurry when choise the optimal number of them.

It was useful? You can donate some isk to Kaira Hareka.
