Venture

This magnificent ship has been introduced relatively recently. Earlier it was not anything like that, there was nothing that could be compared in its capabilities. All of these mining bonuses for ugly rookie ships, the use of cruisers for mining had gone like a bad dream. Now there is a mining frigate, which is so much better that other options shouldn't even be considered. If you are going to dig the gas (and it's worth it), you no longer need other mining ships.

So, what is it so good:

Role bonus

• +100%bonus to mining yield and gas cloud harvesting
• +2 warp core strength

It has only to 2 hardpoints to install mining lasers or gas harvesters, but due the bonus they work as 4. Let me remind you: gas harvesters can be set only 5.

Other bonuses:

• 5% bonus to mining yield  per level of Mining Frigate skill bonus
• 5% reduction to gas cloud harvesting duration per level of Mining Frigate skill bonus

Mining Frigate worth studying to level 5, it's not long. So you will 25% bonus to mining yield - it will replace one more harvester/laser. And for gas it will remain another bonus, –25% harvesting duration.

So, 2 gas harvesters on venture work as over 6 (it is impossible!) on another ship.

But it isn’t all!

It has 5000 m3 ore hold. Who never used to mine on Bantam, won't understand what it mean. Before Venture, you had no choice, only mine to jettison and then swap to industrial ship and take it. Such ore hold is really useful, especially in ninja mining, when you work in hostile space. Industrial ship in null/low sec… fie! It is no longer required.

+2 warp core strength also is very useful thing. Now you have a real chance of salvation. Not every occasional pirate or gate camper has warp disruptor with enough strength.

Disadvantages

• Drone bay for 2 light drones. Enough for SS 0.7-0.8, not very in 0.6-0.5, absolutely not in low/null.
• Besides, it's just a tin can. But with properly selected  fit it’s not so bad.
• You can’t use strip lasers and ice harvesters

Fit tips

• find out what kind NPC live here, what type of  damage they use.
• use shield tank
• shield extender
• shield booster
• adaptive invulnerability field
• rigs to improve shield resists
• use low slot:
• for additional warpstab in low
• for Damage Control in nulls
• for armor plate or shield power relay in high if afk, MLU if not
• use drones
• light scout drones in high sec
• ECM drones in low/null
